e-Bay and PayPal are running their 24 months interest free program again until 9/29/19. Make a purchase on e-Bay over $600 and use PayPal Credit to get 24 months interest free payments (of course exclusions apply) but a great way to buy that new Oled TV or any big ticket item (got my C77 this way at a great price from an authorized dealer). Also get 6 months interest free on $99 and up purchases.

As with all these types of deals, the interest rate is sky high (26.24%) if you don't pay off the balance on time and the interest rate is retro to the purchase date if not paid in full. Otherwise it's free money for 2 years and with simple investing that money can easily earn 110%+ in 2 years. Synchrony is the bank providing the 0% financing.

Picked up a new Elac Discovery Music server (DS-S101-G) for $550 and a new Samsung T5 2TB SSD (MU-PA2T0B/AM) for $250 to go with it - for a total out the door price of $800 - works out to be $33 with interest free payments for 24 months - which is about the max life span of that technology - and worth checking out to see how Roon Essential compares to Plex

Been thinking about putting together a theater pc with MadVr. Any suggestions to go along with this offer?
Not sure of your budget and I only know of MadVr from what I read on the forums here - but based on this thread by Onkyoman last updated 7-16-19:

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/26-home-theater-computers/2364113-guide-building-4k-htpc-madvr.html

It appears that you want the usual suspects in a high-end HTPC; latest i7 or i9, SSD, recent high-end VPU, 10 bit HEVC decoder, and plenty of RAM. I did a quick look on ebay for computers that meet these qualifications and Dell has a store on e-bay that meets the specs and qualifies for the 2 year 0% financing.

This PC meets all of Onkyoman's performance criteria (except for video card where it's only recommended) it's $1,499 so $62 for 24 months (plus tax and includes free shipping)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-XPS-8...TB-HDD-16GB-/223549744520?hash=item340c9a6588

To meet or exceed All of Onkyoman's performance criteria (need to add the RTX 2080 video card) it cost $160 more (additional discount added once PC in cart) so $69 for 24 months (plus tax and includes free shipping)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Alienware-...0-256GB-SSD-/223658015589?hash=item34130e7b65

But if I were to go for the RTX2080 (and I would) then I would also upgrade for $85 to a 1TB SSD for an extra $3/month (additional discount added once PC in cart) so $72 for 24 months (plus tax and includes free shipping)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Alienware-...TB-SSD-16GB-/223658012062?hash=item34130e6d9e

Or course you could DIY for less money and others may know of overall cheaper rigs to buy (and some may also qualify on ebay) but those 3 rigs above would all do very well to extremely well and qualify for the 2 year interest free program.

Hope this help!

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I have been building PC's since the year 2000 so I would probably want to go that route for sure.

That makes sense, so then of course you know that half the fun of DIY is the scavenger hunt of finding the very best components at the very best prices - and the other half of the fun is unboxing everything and putting it all together! Looking forward to seeing your results with MadVr once your new HTPC rig is assembled.

FYI for everyone, you can order multiple components from multiple (qualifying) vendors and as long as the single order total is over $600 you can get the 2 years same as cash offer.

Happy Autumnal Equinox everybody! Black Friday season is now just around the corner and this place will soon start buzzing with lots of deals!

Between now and Oct 20th Best Buy is guaranteeing price match on their Black Friday sales for select purchases of their premium TVs and audio gear - you must be a "My Best Buy" member but it's free to join, and the price match is good until Nov 30th 2019 - see the fine print for all the details.
