I have copied a DVD (my own recording, not a commercial one) by playing it on my HS2 and recording it on my E80 using the S-video connection. I had no problem and was pleased with the results at SP.

E80 record from another player?
Has ne1 been successful hooking a player to the E80 and playing dvd's through either? I have tried hooking my Mits player to the inputs of the E80 but get sound and no picture! thanks

I've tried composite and s-video with no success; several different home dvd's that play fine on the E80 and my Mits player; not sure why the video is not passing through to the E80.
I'm assuming the disks are not copy protected.
Make sure that your Mits player is set to 480i (interlaced mode), not progressive mode. Some players output 480i and 480p simultaneously, others do not.

Thanks Pats; that was my problem, at least for some of them; all are home video transferred from vhs; my Mits was outputing 480p automatically; once I changed it to "i", all was fine; will finish testing the rest today.
