Whatever happened to EA Sports BIG? These games have always been among my favorite until the abysmal FaceBreaker.

Isn't it time for a next-gen SSX?

It's time for a new NBA Street (and NFL and FIFA I guess)!

What gives? Has EA bastardized this group to focus on Madden?

It is hard to believe that they don't think there is a market for the SSX series in the next gen.

EA will look into an SSX revival:

Quote:
EA Montreal trouser-wearer Alain Tascan has admitted there is a lot of love for the SSX snowboarding series at the studio, and said that a revival may be on the cards - particularly if the market (that's you) demands it.

"Ah, SSX," Tascan sighed wistfully to GamesIndustry.biz. "We have a big catalogue and we were talking about what people like. I think this is something we will look at in the future to see if it makes sense to revive the franchise.

"It's a little bit early to talk about it, but I feel... I know internally it is a franchise that people love because it was successful and good, and it reminds me of when we were young, and I feel if the market is there and is ready for a new one then we'll consider it."

SSX was last on the piste back in 2005, with the GameCube, PS2 and Xbox release of SSX On Tour. That was good, by the way, but not as good as SSX 3 and SSX Tricky.

EA Montreal is currently making Army of Two sequel The 40th Day which, as I hope you have noticed, will be playable at the Eurogamer Expo - as will Mass Effect 2 etcetera, etcetera.

Read our Army of Two: The 40th Day preview for the story so far.

I'm worried that game design's moved away from what made SSX (and Tony Hawk 2/3/4) so great. If it does eventually return, it won't be the same SSX we all know and love. I'd rather see someone else step up to the plate with a new score-crazy boarding game.

It was good. It wasn't near the level of 3's sheer awesomeness but it was fun. Wasteland is when they lost it.

Not as much as 3, but yeah, I thought it was pretty damn awesome.
