Here's what I'm looking for primarily for music listening:


Up to $200, mic for phone calls, not bassy like Bose, not over the ear, some controls on the cable like volume.


If it helps, I've liked my high end Shures, SE425. They broke though for the second time and they're out of warranty (the cable that plugs into the device). My one big dislike of Shure SE in general has been low volume. Other earbuds seem to be able to play at higher volume, though I haven't found one with very good quality.

I have a pair of Shure SE530s that I love. I actually got a set of SE535s, but I liked the sound of the SE530s much better.


My first suggestion would be to contact Shure support to get your SE425s fixed/swapped out, even though they are out of warranty. Sometimes that is a lot cheaper than you'd expect with headphones.


The next suggestion would be to get a pair of used SE530s and just buy some new "tips" that fit you:
