Hi folks. I just purchased a Toshiba 40UL605 40" LED TV. This is a super-light set that only weighs 27 pounds. According to the Toshiba specs, it has a 400mm x 400mm VESA mount pattern.

I'm looking to wall mount this set in my den. I only need a basic mount (no swiveling or anything), but I do have one special requirement. Periodically (maybe once a month) I will remove the TV from the wall to take for use in a Rock Band party. I'll probably need to reattach the base at that time also. Are there are types of wall mounts that would make this removal process easier? I've never done a wall mount before so I'm a bit in the dark here. Thanks for any insights!

PS: Also, are there any guidelines about what height to mount the TV at? It seems like mounting the TV low enough on the wall for normal seated viewing would look odd.

I have a basic Cheetah wall mount that I think would serve your purpose well. Basically, you install a large bracket to the wall. You install 2 hanger brackets on the back of the TV. You hang the TV by placing the hanger brackets onto the wall mount. You can also tighten a set screw on the bottom of each hanger bracket to keep it in place. To remove, loosen the set screws and lift the TV off the wall bracket.

As for TV height, I would set it based on where you expect most people to view, i.e., sitting or standing. If you expect a little of both, I think it's easier to watch TV looking up a little then looking down, so I'd err towards installing it higher.

Installed a simple monoprice.com flat mount for my brothers pool bar. Just like above stated you mount a plate and the tv would just slip on and off. He has the same mount in the house so he moves the tv in and out with the weather.

I mounted my 46" so that the top of the tv was at my eye level when standing. Lot of Wii play so didn't want to look down. No one ever complains about it being too high.

Thanks folks. Drew, do you have any idea what the difference between the Cheetah APTMM2B and the Cheetah APTMMB mount is? I'm scratching my head at the moment trying to figure that out. I see that the wall mount plates look a bit different but I'm not at all clear why you would want one or the other.

EDIT: Nevermind, found a review on Amazon that was extremely helpful on this point!
