Hey -

I am a total noob at this - sorry for such a basic question!

I have shows saved on TiVo that I would love to put on DVD for later viewing and sharing with others. I don't have any video capture hardware, any DVD authoring software, or even a DVD writer. What I am wondering is if this is a doable process, and what hard/software I will need. I imagine I will need a video capture card, DVD authoring, and DVD-RW or RAM or whatever format is king these days. Simple menus and chapter selections would be nice, and the DVD should be playable in a standard DVD player.

Also, instead of authoring to DVD, I might just want to DivX encode the epsidoes for PC playback, but I would still like the option of writing to DVD. Is capturing for encoding purposes the same as for output to DVD?

Any advice or directions to online guides would be appreciated!

EDIT: OK - just saw the dvdrhelp.com site - going to check that out. Guess I should have read the threads on DVD-R selection first. Thanks! Any advice is still wanted!
