Hi

I was browsing eBay today where I found a "too good to be true" item. What surprised me was that the high bidder was named "fraud finder". It is apperently an eBay attemt to stop fake auctions. Not sure if this is new, but I think it's great that eBay are doing something about this problem. Maybe not enough, but it's better than nothing IMHO.

Sounds like an independant, ebay would have just shut down the auction.

The way I see auctions there are 3 things to keep you safe.

1) Escrow for things over $500

2) Escrow for things that seem fishy

3) Escrow for new sellers

You CAN get a deal on eBay, but if it's a steal make sure it's not you getting thieved.

Cheers
