Hi all. I am having a really weird issue with my sony BDV E500W. The sound when on any HD input is very echo-y, mostly for voices! at least that is when you can tell the most. I have digital cable through shaw, and on any normal TV the sound is perfect, but on video on demand it echos, Also through PS3 it echos but only when through optical audio. on the PS3 the sound is fine in analog through the rca's? Is there a different amplifier for analog audio and digital audio? I am stumped! please help!

Just to add... I had a shaw tech come by and check everything. He ended up replacing the cable box, which didn't help

I'm not famillair with that partumicular unit, but if I had to guess its a seting you have for DD and possibly DTS. Sounds almost like you set the equalizer to the Hall setting.

Thanks ph8te, I checked all the settings. I even reset to factory default in case I changed something I didn't know i changed.

Figured it out

Feel a little dumb now though.... I was running HDMI to the tv but had sound off on the tv. But instead of running the optical from the out on the tv i ran it straight from the receiver to the surround. must have created a loop or something?
