Sorry to be asking a non-HTPC question, but I know fellow AVS'ers in this forum would know the answer.

I need a good quality, yet economical video capture card to transfer VHS tapes to my PC where I will then burn captured content to DVD.

I have about 2 dozen tapes with personal content that I don't want to deteriate by sitting on the self any longer.

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Duffin

I've just started using a Hauppauge WinTV-dbx card, was about $80. Seems to work well, but I'm also using a good quality PCI sound card (Turtle Beach Santa Cruz).

Nice part about the WinTV is that it uses the chip that just about everything can read (I use VirtualVCR to do my caps to PicVideo MJPEG files).
