I have the above setup.

The ECP has RGB BNC connectors and the JVC has RCA Component.

I must admit that I am retarded and tried to use a BNC - > RCA converter, so that I could connect the RCA component to the RGB cables.

The picture was fine, execpt for the fact that only the green tube was good enough to see.

What is the chepest and / or best way for me to go from my composite to RGB.

^ is this my cheapest option?

Is a scaler / htpc my best option?

Should I return the dvd player (aprox 170$) and get a low range htpc (600$) ??

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE!!!

Sir

You need a component to RGB transcoder, Key Digital has one that is well regarded. An HTPC will give superior image quality now and in the future and can be set to higher resolutions when you go for an upgrade to an eight or nine inch CRT. A doubler or 480p device is matched okay to seven inch CRTs but any decent eight or nine inch system wants 720p or better; the PC is a mite awkward to work with but is effectively futureproof for resolutions; a Pentium III/600 or better will accomodate any Radeon card, be sure to add TheaterTek player software and Powerstrip and you will be rockin' in no time!

So dvd player = 170

converter = 200

Total = 370

So I'm better off building a PC for around 600$?
