Edit HD D-VHS tapes?

885 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  shugazer9
I have about 14 hours of HD that I have recorded on my JVC 40K that I want to edit down to about two hours of tape. Does anyone have any experience editing this format on a computer? If so, what application do you use? What specs do I need on a computer in order to do this?

Thanks.

I edit on my LG LST-3410A DVR, then dump back to DVHS. (editing functioning is limited, but serves my needs)
How do you edit on a 3410? I would be interested in knowing. It looks like the dVHS out option just dumps the entire recording to the tape, without much option for ediing (except stop and resume).

Use a firewire card in pc and use CapDVS to capture the streen to hard drive. Then Use HD2Mpg to edit the streems down. Then use CapDVS to send the edited streems to JVC 40k. CapDVS is free should find a link somewhere in this forum.

You have to edit on the hard drive before you dump to DVHS. You can also edit when you are dumping from DVHS to the hard drive.
Buy another D-VHS deck
