I bought an Elan S86 to replace an HD system and have it working except:


I cannot get it to accept Z Pad commands into the rear zone keypad input. According to the diagrams the pin out is the same as for the Elan HD and they work fine


I used VIA Tools to set a keypad for Zone 1 and loaded default Z Pad commands but I must be missing something


I may just use all RS232 two way commands so it may not matter but presently all my touchpads send Z Pad commands to an Elan HD by using the zone ports (also use some global RS232 commands) so I was hoping to start by plugging the individual zone keypads into the S86 in the same way


I also tested an original Z Pad with the HD unit (works) and the S86 (does not work and no flashing LED when I press a keypad button)


I am missing some step? The S86 works fine with RTI 2 way drivers

just to be clear: I use 10 RTI RK3 Touchpads programmed with Z Pad IR commands


I have one Z Pad for testing


all work fine sending IR commands plugged into Elan HD but no go with S86
