I thought I'd finally share this hookup I did a few years ago.

When I first installed my DILA projector, I needed some means of tilting the pj to allow the use of different screens. (My ceiling slants down where the screens hang, so to use a large 4:3 screen the pj has to be tilted upward.) The pj's behind a wall, so it had to be remote controllable.

This could be adapted for other installations.

I used an old 12vdc alarm system power supply and a DPDT switch from Radio Shack. The motor shaft turns very slowly, so positioning of the picture on the screen is smooth and easy to adjust. An AC gearmotor could be used as long as it's reversible. The motors can be bought at www.meci.com < http://www.meci.com&gt ; or "Surplus Center" (Catalog: 800-488-3407).My motor cost $30.

Might be even more useful when I get my Panamorph!

Cool, but how do I do this with a ceiling mount?

Maybe I am not interpreting the image well.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

Mark- Stepper motors are a possibility, I'll probably try that someday.

Cameron- I wish I could have had a larger picture. A ceiling version of this is doable, but really involved. A peice of the ceiling would have to be removed to mount the gearmotor on the beam. Or maybe it could be mounted underneath in front of the pj... something to think about.

Thanks,
