I decided to see if I could improve the picture on my marquee 8500lc by going through some of the setup tips I have read on the forum. I started out by deleting the memories in the service menu and going through the guided setup in the help menu. In order to get a good focus I have to reduce the electrical focus to 25. before I was able to get good focus at around 50.


To get the best focus on the green tube the electrical focus would be at 17, the red tube closer to 30. I just cant get it tight using the lens rings.


How do I focus each tube with electical focus individualy or is there another way?

The only other way to adjust electrical focus I know of is the RGB

zone focus. That would be in the service menu:

Press UTIL, 9 (service), 0901 password), 2 (RGB focus adjustment)

to enter the zone focus adjustments. The first three are global for

each color, then 4 zones per color. Adjust with cursor keys.

Each time you press the enter key it will advance to the next zone.

This will sequence through each color until you reach the SAVE/NO SAVE/

CONTINUE dialog box.


Make note of settings before adjusting just in case. Also, You may want

to go back to the main focus adjustment and set it to 50 to "center" it.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I think when I reset everything all my settings went back to 50. I need it at the midway point so I can check my flare and stig.
