i am looking at the a3-300 sub from elemental designs.

there are 2 driver choices:

13kv.2 (included)

13ov.2 (+25$)


what am i getting for the additional 25 dollars if i choose to upgrade.

a better, maybe bigger driver well worth the extra $25

I think Alex at eD would be the best resource to answer your question.


FWIW; I went from a 13kv to 13ov in my car subwoofer. I think I was told to expect a 1-2db increase, and higher power handling.

I can't find the specs on the Ov.2, but looking at comparisons of other Kv.2 vs Ov.2 drivers, the O has dual VCs (not that that would matter in this case), has higher power handling capability, and longer max excursion. eD also shows the 13Kv.2 as being discontinued, so you would be buying the last of them. I would go with the 13Ov.2
