Does anyone own the A5-450(19Ov.2 Ported DIY Kit)? If so please let me know what you think of it. Seems like a killer deal.

Will have an Epik Empire and hopefully an A5-450 until craigsub releases his CS18.1.

I'm also very interested in this DIY sub. Anyone out there with experience with this? Was originally going to go with an MFW-15 (with the knowledge that I may have to do some diy on it), but with the latest news, now looking for an alternative.

go to tweakcityaudio.com Craigsub is making a subwoofer at near cost and selling it, which is pretty sweet in my book, but problem is when will he release it? Supposedly its at the end of March but now it seems like May. The sub will play multiple frequencies at the same time and have supposedly better performance then any of the current offerings from Epik, Elemental designs, SVS, Seaton, etc.... an 18" woofer is baltic Birch plywood with a 500 watt amp and a huge enclosure for $800 then an opposing baffle dual 18" woofer with 800-1000 watts for $1400. Think Seaton Submersive with 18" dual woofers instead of the 15" it packs meets Elemental designs big enclosures. Seems like a pretty sweet deal.

they also have some 10" enclosures, but I don't really care about those, but if you do please look into it. My girlfriend agrees bigger is better, so I'm going after an 18". The eD a5-450 and CS18.1 seem perfect. The Epik Empire is a good sub if you got space to place it. I don't have too much space, but recently I rearranged my room and am now able to have it so that it has 6 feet between a opposing walls in a nook area, and 2 feet from the nook wall, but I still can't get it to blend in with my Mirage. Other than that it sounds great. Just disappointed I cant get it to blend in, and also I had to do a lot of moving around just to get it to sound good. I like the MFW cause you can just put it anywhere and it sounds great. The Empire requires careful placement consideration if you want it to sounds its best and understandably so given the dual opposing 15" woofer design that they copied from Seaton submersive.
