l am putting together a light controlled, multi purpose home theater room. I have a built in cabinet with a hutch which holds a flat panel TV. I plan on purchasing an Elite Cinetension II screen, and install it to drop down and cover the entire hutch area.
My options for the placement of a center speaker would be: 1. Have a cabinet maker build it into the base cabinet directly under the drop down screen, or 2. Buy the Elite acoustically transparent screen and locate the speaker behind the screen in the hutch portion of my built in.
Does anyone have experience with Elite's material? The $300 increase in the screen's cost is certainly cheaper and easier than modifying my base cabinet. Would there be a significant impact to the sound quality coming through the screen?
