‘Emergence’: Owain Yeoman Cast In ABC Drama Pilot (original article stated NBC, the show has since moved to ABC)

Turn and The Mentalist alum Owain Yeoman is set as a series regular opposite Allison Tolman and Alexa Skye Swinton in Emergence, NBC’s mystery drama pilot from Kevin (Probably) Saves the World creators/executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, director Paul McGuigan and ABC Studios.

Written by Fazekas and Butters and directed by McGuigan, Emergence is a character-driven genre thriller that centers on Jo (Tolman), a police chief who takes in a young child, Piper (Swinton), she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.

Yeoman will play Benny, an investigative reporter for Reuters.

Cast also includes Robert Bailey Jr., Clancy Brown and Ashley Aufderheide.

Fazekas and Butters executive produce with McGuigan. Robert Atwood, development executive for the Fazekas & Butters production company, is a producer.

Yeoman most recently starred as Benedict Arnold on AMC’s Turn: Washington’s Spies. He recently wrapped principal photography on Lionsgate’s SAS: Red Notice opposite Sam Heughan, Ruby Rose and Tom Wilkinson and is currently filming a lead role opposite Katie Holmes in Lakeshore/STX’s feature The Boy 2. Yeoman is repped by ICM Partners and Thruline Entertainment.

Sounds interesting, but NBC have canceled so many new series lately after barely just getting them off the ground- it almost not even worth giving their new shows a try.
Seems like if they don't get instant smash hit returns after a handful of airings they pull the plug instantly vs. giving it a chance to find an audience.

The premise didnt sound so great but the preview looked really neat. The girl seems to have some decent super powers.

The forward flip of a vehicle after hitting someone with super mental powers is getting to be as much of a cliche as the interior view of a driver in a car as it gets T-boned by a vehicle coming out of nowhere.

I do like me some Terry O'Quinn, always been a fan of his.

‘Emergence’: Terry O’Quinn To Recur In ABC Drama Series
By Denise Petski, Deadline.com - Aug. 19, 2019

Terry O’Quinn (Patriot, Perpetual Grace, LTD) is set for a recurring role opposite Allison Tollman on ABC’s new genre thriller series Emergence, from Kevin (Probably) Saves the World creators/executive producers Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, director Paul McGuigan and ABC Studios.

Written by Fazekas and Butters, Emergence is a character-driven genre thriller that centers around a police chief, played by Allison Tolman, who takes in a young child that she finds near the site of a mysterious accident who has no memory of what has happened. The investigation draws her into a conspiracy larger than she ever imagined, and the child’s identity is at the center of it all.

O’Quinn will play Richard Kindred, the head of Augur Industries, a diversified, far-reaching tech holding company. Equal parts charming and ruthless, Kindred’s a self-made billionaire with countless professional and personal casualties in his wake. He will go to great lengths to protect his company and reputation, and few would dare to cross him.

In addition to Tolman, the cast includes Alexa Swinton, Owain Yeoman, Ashley Aufderheide, Robert Bailey Jr., Zabryna Guevara co-star along with Donald Faison and Clancy Brown.

Fazekas and Butters executive produce with McGuigan and Juan Alfonso, Head of Television for Fazekas and Butters’ production company. ABC Studios, where Fazekas and Butters are under an overall deal, is the studio.

O’Quinn most recently co-starred in the praised Amazon series Patriot and the MGM/Epix series Perpetual Grace, LTD. He’s repped by Genuine Artists.

I read this whole thread, twice! Even watched the trailer which only mentioned coming soon, don't know how I missed that post, I did look  I see it now :)

You could have simply said Premieres Sept. 24th at 10 PM. :D
Yes thanks, too soon to program from my Tivo guide, I'll hope my "premiere" wishlist catches it, I'll also keep an eye out for it.

 This show seems too much like Manifest for me.

First ABC passes on Manifest, and NBC picks it up. Then NBC seemingly drops it, then decides to bring it back. So ABC decides to jump on this mystery bandwagon with this show.

ABC is really lacking on tv shows. Maybe they should stick to the game shows. lol

Yeah, I'm so sick of the "mysterious kid with mysterious powers who doesn't recall anything and is pursued by mysterious government forces" premise. It is so played out by now. Even though I loves me a good mystery/puzzle show, I'll probably pass on this. Still waiting on the next LOST, and it hasn't come around yet.

Plus, it's on broadcast TV and the 22 episode season is just too big a time commitment for me now. I hate to say it, but a broadcast show has to be freaking awesome for me to sign on to that kind of schedule anymore.

If you want something you can binge in about 3-4 hrs, try Mr. Iglesias. It's a Netflix sitcom starring Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias. The show was decent for the plot. No real time commitment. If it becomes a one and done season, you're not left hanging. But if they bring it back, the story can go on.
