There any reviews on this product yet??

Won't be released(maybe) until March.
Interesting AVR, made in the same China factory as the NAD, Cambridge and Azur products are built.

Uses the Cirrus Logic audio DSPs (49704 x 2) and a Silicon Image 9535 HDMI processor...

Excellent features 7.1 input, 7.1 pre-outs, torroidal power supply..

My only negative comment is that it uses (3) fans for cooling, which can be audible and quite noisy if triggered ON by driving the amplifiers hard..

Just my $0.05..... 👍😉

And you know this how ??? I often wonder how people find this information.
This thing looks very interesting.

Is it a UMC200 plus amp?

I use a gear closet outside my room, well ventilated, and don't care about fan noise.

For a $100 bump over the UMC200, having the amp built in for surround speakers and zone 2 speakers, even if I decide the fronts need more power (since i'm using 4ohm speakers) might be very nice.
With their new room correction I wonder how it would stack up to my sherbourn as just a processor. I doubt the fans would even come on with no speakers hooked up.
I'm waiting on one right now. I'll probably try out the automated system, but I'm buying it precisely to stop using automated systems and get back to manual PEQ.

I"m not an expert at PEQ, but don't mind learning. But the real value is my calibrator is a pro and can typically generate much better results than automated systems. (My current setup uses Audyssey XT32 which is great as a simple way to get my living room sounding good, but typically does weird things in my treated listening room).

I'm not worried about the fans, since I'll keep it in a separate room.

I am marginally worried about software hiccups, since I think that is where Emotiva has the most challenges. But my fallback is to run my Oppo direct into an outboard amp, if the Emotiva fails me for a time.

As posted previously, since we do product development of AVRs (and other AV components) for certain brands, and travel to the Far East frequently...

We know where the products are designed and assembled...

As well as which key silicon components are used and their basic costs.

I wonder if anyone actually got one of these, I see on the Emo site that the release date is now April1,2014. Maybe an april fools Joke .
A good option IMO for the price. It doesn't have the networking features of other brands, but you can use a bluray player for that. The 8100 has good power, PEQ, excellent build quality, and preouts for an external amp if needed.
Does anyone know if the power ratings are under load like the NAD avr's? I'm just starting out with my avr education now that I've got a few sets of speakers picked out.
There are detailed load testing reports on the emotiva site.

As I posted previously, this AVR is designed/assembled by the same factory that does NAD products. Their electrical specifications including power output ratings are conservative vs. the typical mass-market Japanese brands.

Any opinions on the Fusion Advanced Room Correction it has? Wondering how this compares to their EmoQ gen2 in the UMC-200. Newer doesn't always mean better. Can't wait to hear some reviews on this though.

It is.
Though they have also changed the name of the auto room correction.... Not that I care too much about that since I'll be going manual.

It does make one wonder why, however.
Wonder if you can replace the fans? For some reason manufacturers always cheap out on the fans. I remember many people replacing the onboard fan on the $3,500 msrp HK 7550HD because it was so terrible even a $5 fan from amazon was a massive upgrade.

Or I guess an alternative is to put an aftermarket fan above the receiver so the internal fans never kick in.

The UMC-200 paired with a good amp (or amps) is still superior to the Fusion 8100 in a number of ways IMO. However, the manual PEQ is identical AFAIK.

The Emotiva mini-X a-100 power amp also has an internal fan, but when Steve Guttenberg reviewed it for CNET he wrote that this internal fan never kicked in. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-57405240-47/emotivas-sweet-sounding-$219-amplifier

If the fan constantly keeps spinning, IMO you might perhaps want to consider getting a more powerful amp if possible. My setup uses an Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC Plus (in solid state mode, no tube installed in the tube socket) that's hooked up to the analog inputs of an UMC-200. It has an XPA-2 to power my front Left+Right, Canton Vento 890.2 DC. My surround Left+Right are powered studio monitors, Emotiva Pro Airmotiv 5. Phantom center, no subwoofer.
