The Epik Caliber might break the budget after shipping, so you may need to compare to a Knight. Which still in that size room, and being open, I say one of whatever he gets now, then a second when he can afford to. Me I went with a Knight, and it is clear as a bell, no wait, clear as a pipe organ down to 13Hz, in a 19'x12'x7'9"~.

Well we got our Caliber for $808 shipped(to Arizona) so if it's over budget it's not gonna be by much. We to had it down to these three and then got it down to the the Knight and the eD A5-350. My room is close to yours it sounds like and I inquired to bumping up to the Caliber for $100 more. I talked to Epik(Chad)and we our room size he felt the extra $100 would be worth it. Well to say the least we are VERY VERY happy with the Caliber.

The shipping might be a little higher with these gas prices. I think he ( your friend) will be happy with any of these.

We went with the Caliber cause of the bigger cabinet and good reviews on here, talking with Chad helped also

Here is a pic of our set up:

is that a caliper?

why does it look so small?

is it sideways?
I'm in the same boat, Caliper vs. A5-350 w/LT-550. My room is 16'x20'x12' with a vault at one end and is open to my kitchen and dinning room.

Shipping is going to be ~$150 to Alabama on the Caliper, so that makes it about $120 more than the A5.

Free shipping on the eD sub is really attractive, but i'm sure I'll love which ever one I decide on. =D

Yes I had it on it's side when I took that picture. I was experimenting with it for the best location

caliper just makes it sound really "accurate"
my vote goes for ed a5 350. never heard the caliper but have the ed and it is something serious. it may be more than enough for you.
