Yes, you read that right. I have been invited to see EPISODE II this weekend. It's a press screening and will be in a decent theater. However, it's late at night (11 PM Sunday) and I wonder if I can enjoy it at such a late hour.

I had planned on seeing this sucker at the Ziegfeld in NYC, which is showing it digitally. What would you do?

I used to be a huge Star wars fan, but I so despised and hated The Phantom Menace that I have lost much of my desire to see anything Star Wars. :(

Matt: it's kinda late on sunday indeed. but this episode II would really surprise me if it's not good ( if not stellar ! ). I plan to see several times in the theater before enjoying ( hopefully this time with the original "untouched" audio cinema master used for the dolby, since no dts pffffff, track on the dvd in the fall ). wouch! that's a long phrase :D

have you any buzz why no dts on the dvd btw ? any "insiders" REAL reasons ? :D

cheers

I'd go and watch it at the press screening. Then watch it again in the Ziegeld in NYC. After the digital screening you could tell us if there was a real difference in PQ.

(Of course, you would still have to review the movie for us after the press screening. ;) )

I just purchased tickets online for the Ziegfeld on May 18th and there was no option for reserve seating. Can anyone confirm that they are NOT doing reserve seating for this theater?

Thanks

I have not decided what I want to do. I may have to skip the press screening for my fiancee's sake. She can't go and she will be miffed if I go without her. :( Should I keep the peace, or start a rebellion. :D

If you go to the Ziegfeld you can buy the tickets ahead of time at the box office, for the exact place you want to sit. Just remember that they don't have reserve seating for every show and the best seats sell out quickly. If you have a lot of people in your party, it will make seating everyone together very difficult.

Well, I am glad that that's cleared up. I'll be in NYC on the 18th for the 3:30 showing. Matt from Love & Bullets.com will also be there. I hope to see some AVS members show up. Be quick! Tickets are going fast fast fast.
