Hi all.

New hear, and far from an expert, so hoping to get some advice. Be gentle with the new guy. :)

I'm in the market to have some outdoor speakers installed near my pool area. An installer has proposed an Episode Landscape Speaker Kit with Four 4 in. Satellite Speakers, and 1,000 watt Crown Amplifier (KIT-ES-LS-SAT-4), along with an Episode Landscape Series Burial Subwoofer with 12 in Woofer (ES-LS-BSUB-12).

The quote is for $1,899 for the speakers, and $895 for the subwoofer.

Can anyone give me an input as to whether these are decent quality speakers, and if the quote is at a fair price?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ray. Those are them. Just don't have a good sense of how close the MSRP's on SnapAV are to the "real" price. I like my installer. I want him to get a fair price. Just don't want to get screwed. That site appears to be geared to maximizing installer profit, which is fine by me, so long as I get treated okay.

Well, if you want to save some money, this would not be a difficult DIY project...

I have not heard the sub, but it's half the price. Is the amp included with your package? I would love some feedback on a inground sub! I've been debating it, but am skeptical on results. I just think the bass would be so localized to a certain area, but could be wrong. bass can be funny in a home, let alone the great outdoors.

You could start with some larger speakers, and see if you even are interested in the expensive subwoofer. I

I have these and love them.

If you do it, please post your results! I would explore some more options before committing to that cost.

I just renovated my pool and got the crown amplifier, and the 4 speakers for same price. That's the standard price for that set-up. The higher price the previous guy is talking about is for the larger speakers that are 500 a piece instead of 250. Only thing I didn't get is the subwoofer. The system sounds fantastic minus some static that seems to happen when my light switch is on in the cabana. The subwoofer will cost me 1200 that's labor included might get that done in the spring. I'm using Sonos for my music and the Sonos and amp are both stored inside my house which is really nice.
