Hi Folks,

I have an Epson 9500UB paired with a 100 inch Stewart Firehawk Screen. While watching movies/TV, I noticed a sort of 'haze' in the the bright portion of images (on white clothing, sky, etc).

FYI. Projector throw distance is ~11 feet. I am using the THX mode on the projector (normal lamp mode).

Is this phenomena due to the projector or the Firehawk screen (which has a 'sparkle-like' characteristic in the screen material)?

It's a whitish, slightly sparkle-like haze - which leads me to think it is due to the 'optical coating' on the Firehawk screen.

Has anyone else (with a Firehawk screen) noticed this? Any tips on managing this (eg. modification of projector setting)?

Thanks so much!

Welcome to the forum. What output setting are you using? Did you try any calibration disks or did you consider getting your unit calibrated? Is your room totally dark? Do you see the haze with no picture on the screen?
