Hi guys!

I stumbled on this forum from Google results and found this post -  http://www.avsforum.com/t/1458911/epson-8100-replaced-bulb-and-now-pink-blue-bands

I have changed the lamp with a known working one and the problem persists. Before I start pulling the projector apart, is a misaligned glass piece a suspect in my issue?  It's hard to describe the yellow blur/smear but at first I thought it was a faulty cable/input.  However the smear also happens on the menu display.

I hope the photos can do justice to the problem.

Thanks guys!

Hi Aaphid,

No, I never ended up getting this working. Fixing would cost more than a replacement, the business centre did not want to buy another one as funds were low, so the staff and students just had to put up with it. Having a broken display was better than none at all, so I never took it down and tried checking if the mirrors were out of alignment. If you can afford to take the unit out of service, I'd be removing the cover and making sure none of the mirrors have moved.

Best of luck :)
