Hey guys, first let me say most of you guys have insane setups that make me feel very humble about my cobbled together basement setup. Anyways, what i'm looking for is a piece of furniture to put my receiver, game consoles, and cable box in. The biggest thing is the receiver which is 18.4 x 17.1 x 7.5. Was thinking about picking something up from Ikea in the Besta line http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/pr...192#/10102135/ . The receiver is a little deeper then the unit but I could put it on top of it being the feet are a little more closer together then the outside of the unit. Still looks kinda tacky tough don't it? I guess my point is I need something to put my gear on that looks nice with out being to industrial looking. Thanks for reading.

I wouldn't recommend that at all. Most of these inexpensive bookcases aren't sturdy enough to hold a receiver or other heavy components - the weight will cause the shelf to sag and possibly fail. Also, bookcases don't have openings for cables or to allow air movement.

Look instead at inexpensive A/V furniture. Search for "audio stand" or "audio tower".

One source to get some ideas:
