I tried to play Scorpion King on my XA1 firmware 2.0 tonight and receive this error right after the initial Universal HD-DVD intro. It is a Blockbuster rental but the disc is very clean with absolutely no scratches. I re-cleaned it with a micro-fiber cloth just in case and no luck. I powered off and back on... no luck. I tried another Universal disc (the Hulk) and it worked perfectly. So something must be wrong with this disc right?

This is my first major problem since I got my XA1 a few months ago and about 30 movies ago.

Good thing it is only a rental... I'll send it back and tell them there is a problem with it.

Thanks for the info.

Same thing happened to me with Casino last night. Got the same code twice, then did an initialization. After that the movie started playing but would completely hang the A1 before chapter 3. Had to do a hard power off several times before I gave up. Tried it on my XA1 and it did the same thing, so obviously it was a bad copy even though it looked flawless.

My guess is a disc read error while trying to unlock the title key. If the device key and title key do not return a specific value stored on the disc the program will determine that the player key has been revoked and stop playback.

Just got the same error on my A1 at the same place in the Scorpion King. This is my personal copy and I have played it successfuly one before. Again, this is the first title which gives me this, and other discs still work OK.

Will be interesting to see if others get the same with the Scorpion King in the future.
