This is fantastic news.
I recently switched from Directv to Cablevision. First they offered me a great deal and second they had more HD programming. The one thing that I did miss was losing ESPN-HD. Although the channel itself lacked enough HD content, it was still sports in HD which means something.
I put my Directv account on hold. When I was asked by the Directv CSR how long I wanted to put the account on hold I told them I would return when they added more HD content. They asked me how long it would be? I asked them to tell me when they were adding more Hd content. Obviously Directv policy made it impossible for me to hold on, especially given the $11 monthly fee for minimal HD content.
I for one am happy Cablevision has made the move and I feel quite certain that ABC can't be that far behind. If it happens to show up sometime around Monday Night Football's debut this fall that will be even better.
