Does anyone know what the weight limits are for the adjustable shelves in the Ethan Allen A/V racks? Their website has no info. The stores don't have any info. I have a call into corporate, but I'm guessing that I won't hear back until next week. I was hoping to hook up my new receiver this weekend.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Dan

Well if we can't find the answer. Lets look at it from the reverse angle...

What is the heaviest component you plan to put on one of the shelves?

Are the shelves solid hard wood? If so, alot. I mean even a soft wood like pine can hold pretty darn much in my experiences.

Hi John,

I like your approach!

From what I understand, the cabinet is made out of solid maple wood. It looks and feels very sturdy. I have had a Bryston 9b-ST at the bottom of the cabinet in a non-adjustable shelf for years with no problem.

It's the adjustable shelves that I am unsure of. They are 3/4" thick and are held in place by those little metal pieces that peg into the side of the cabinet, which can be moved to adjust the height of the shelf.

The component that I am putting in weighs about 55 lbs. I have had a Theta Data III (about 40 lbs) in one of the adjustable shelves for years as well with no issues.

Thanks again John!
