hi,

after the start of Euro1080, a european HDTV Channel to receive over the ASTRA Satellite Group in January with Input from HDNet the Europeans seems to be keeping up their work with HDTV.

The german Pay TV Provider PREMIERE plans to transmite the Super Bowl in HDTV to their Costumers. For now there is no deal to talk about, but its in discussion and up to the german Provider to do it or not, cause they get the HDTV Signal for sure.

What is clear yet is that they show the Super Bowl in HDTV in some Cinemas around Germany powered by PREMIERE. Thats the reason why they discuss to bring the Bowl in HiDef all over to their costumers, cause there are not so much digital cinemas around Germany and as an Beginner they didnt think about this Problem as they started planing.

hi,

the german PayTV Provider confirmed that they`ll show the Super Bowl in HDTV FTA over Satellite. The Signal will be overtaken from CBS. They currently testing over the european Satellite ASTRA.

European Forums said:

Yesterday, they had tested the HDTV transmission with a Play-Off Game. First they showed it in DTV and then they switched up to HDTV, back to DTV a.s.o .

In a Press Release a spokesman of the Provider said:

We wanna step up in a new area and be the first channel in Europe which brings a HDTV live Event to our Customers.

I already own a LT150z so I will be able to view the Euro1080 channel with the projector (and a sat card in my HTPC).

What if I want to view the HDTV channels on a TV set?

I do not want to buy a plasma.

There are no DLP sets but one available in Europe.

What would you suggest for ideal display?

[sometimes I hate living in Europe... as a videophile...]
