Ok I guess I am going to get either the Pioneer 643 or the Mits Goldplus 65 inch RPTV. What kind of life expectancy can I expect out of this type set?? Figure my wife and kid get home at 5pm and its gonna run til midnite during the week. Weekends you know the usual probably on most of the day and nite again. I will be getting the extended warranty for 3 years but have the option to go longer, I think 5 years was max. Whats considered normal life expectancy for a RPTV now ?

Thanx

I'd say at least 7 years and probably 10-15. You'll be wanting a new one before it wears out. Just keep the contrast down (below 50%) if the room lighting doesn't need it. However, don't be afraid to crank up the contrast when you need it.
