Hi

I have a PC based HTPC and i find it extremely slow, so i am thinking about upgrading it. However, my brother told me to try out Linux and Mythbuntu, saying it will be much much faster and reliable.

My concern is that if the following devices will continue to operate the same way as it did in vista.

Microsoft IR Puck

Microsoft Media Center keyboard

Harmony 720 remote - controls Vista MCE.

All three of these can be set up to work with Myth/Ubuntu. I have the MCE remote and a Harmony 628 working. I don't have the keyboard but if you do a search on ubuntuforums.org I'm sure you will find some info.

A lot of how hard it is depends on your hardware and what you plan on using it for. It has a lot of features, some take more setup than others, but some you may or may not use. So this question would be easier to answer if we knew more about your hardware, Linux experience, and how you plan to use it. If your brother can help you it can go quickly. sometimes just having a little experience gets you past things quickly.
