I have grasped with concepts of basic audio video distribution from my main receiver (Pioneer Elite VSX 52tx), now I am trying to figure out the concept of adding an amplifier for additional speakers. I am adding 3 more sets of speakers to my system throughout the house (audio only zones), but am not sure how to pick an amp. Some say 2, 6, 12 channel etc. with different watts. Can someone please explain the basic concept of adding amplifiers, and then in addition please suggest an amp for 3 sets of speakers for around 3 to 5 hundred dollars if possible.

Thanks

Here's a great amp that should hit the streets in a few weeks at a great price:

Basically, the idea of what you're trying to do is take the load off of your current receiver and send the signal to potentially multiple rooms. You wouldn't take 6 speakers and connect them to your 2 receiver outputs - and cause an impedence nightmare.

HTD is a great company to deal with. They offer a great selection of in-wall, in-ceiling speakers along with wall-mounted volume controls, too.
