Hello All,

Here's the response I received regarding the availability of Sportsnet-HD on Expressvu........not very informative, but sounds like it might be in the works

Dear Viewer;

Thank you for your recent e-mail. We apologize for the delayed response and

thank you for your patience. At Sportsnet our viewers are our number one

priority.

Just to keep you up to date Sportsnet is broadcasting all of the Jays home

games in September in High-Definition. If you do not have an HD set then

your TV goes to the "letterbox" format as seen in wide screen movies so that

the viewers can see more of the field. In true HD from behind the catcher

you can see first and third base plus the facial expressions of the

outfield. You have to see it to believe it. Unfortunately, as of now this

service is only available on Rogers as we are in negotiations with the other

carriers.

Should you have any additional questions, comments or concerns, please feel

free to contact us. We can be reached at [email protected]

or at our toll free number 1-877-288-7767.

Once again, thank you for your comments. We look forward to hearing from you

soon.

Sincerely,

Jesse Cassaday

The Blue Jays in HD are absolutely stunning. I was glued to my tv watching and I'm not even a fan. I think the problem lies with Rogers and Bell coming to some sort of reciprocal agreement for carriage of each others HD Services. Rogers is in negotiations for carriage of TSN-HD and Discovery HD. Ted Rogers was even quoted as saying their will be 15-20 HD channels on Rogers Cable by the end of the month, and it looks like their are 2 slots on the cable dial where TSN-HD and Discovery HD will be placed. I think when that happens Sportsnet HD will get carriage on Expressvu. Personally I think Discovery HD is a joke in comparison to Discovery HD Theater which is what we really what want to see offered, although Discovery HD is still better than nothing.
