Extra Drop Length on Screen

Hello everyone,

I have 12 ft ceiling and have an X1. My question is how much extra drop should I purchase as I need to mount the screen and the projector to the ceiling.

Also I am on a tight budget, and although I fear waves from such a long drop I don't think I can afford tensioned screens. Any suggestions on a screen, I am thinking 106".

I will mostly be watching DVD movies at night.

Any recommendations?
