Im trying to balance accoustics with asthetics and was planning on hiding my speakers behind fabric panels. Originally I was just going to go with the thin black speaker cloth but now Id like to match these panels with the heavier fabric I have in panels all along the walls. Will a single layer of it substantially muffle the sound coming from the front L & R? I know it's going to muffle it somewhat, but Id REALLY like to use the decorative Victorianish fabric to match the rest of the room.

Depends on what the fabric in question is.
