I just replaced my original 40GB hard drive with a 2 160 GB drives and the replay is working fine. I meant to add a photo partition when I did the

upgrade but I didn't think of it at the time. Rather than pulling out the drives and starting over, can I just do a factory reset (382-zones)? Will this allow me to go through the setup as if it is a new machine? Also, will there be any problems since it was a 5040 but it now has 320 GB?

Thanks,

Tom

it should let u pick ur photo partition size after a reset....when i patched a 40gb drive the other day w/ a 4500 image so that i could put it back in my 45xx for the trade-in, i did the reset after it booted up b/c it said i was passed my grace period.

hit 382-zones and went thru the factory reset...bam, everything was fine--it connected to the service and validated the sub...during the reset, i was prompted about the photo partition.

You got nothing to lose by trying it... a factory reset. It should allow you to reset the Photo partiton to a size of your choosing.

The software should be reset (382-Zones) after a fresh image restore anyway. Give it a shot, and check back with your results. :)
