I am posting this as a new topic in the hope that the replay guys will see this and possibly help. The download keeps trying. I have done a net connect and I have let it do its own thing. The software starts to download. Then it stops at 11%. I have heard this before. Most people say that after a 1/2 hour or so it continues on. After a few minutes at 11% my modem disconnects. The only message is that the modem hung up. I have had at least 10 tries the last couple of days. Including over night. After the overnight I had the new listings for 8 days but I still had the message that the modem hung up. I change phone numbers about 10 days ago. I have had no messages. So it has been working until the 3.0 download.

Why can't the software download continue where it left off instead of starting over again everytime? Is there any hope on this? Thanks, Al

Be patient. I had trouble doing normal connections on my 3030 (the 2020 worked fine) for a couple days earlier this week.


Also, before you go to bed tonight, make sure it's not recording something (or just about to) and power down the machine. Then after the disk has spundown unplug the machine for a couple minutes and then plug it back in. That will ensure that it's "fresh" for the download which may help.


If perchance you've disabled the disk spindown through the 243Zones clawfoot portal then just wait long enough to make sure the machine isn't busy after doing the powerdown.


This may or may not help the download depending on whether the problem is on your end or their end.

My own guess is that with all the Showstoppers doing the 3.0 download that it's putting a major stress on their servers which is causing some trouble.

Thanks, I'll try it again tonight. Last night it just did a regular program download. It did not try the software. I will see what happens tonight. Al
