I have a good friend that has a Mits 55857 and may have to get rid of it (because of SO objections). It's about 6 months old and seems to be in very good shape. What do you guys think would be a fair price for it? Aren't new ones currently going for about $3500 at Tweeter/Hi Fi Buys?

I've been planning on buying a Toshiba 56H80 which is going for about $2700 delivered. If we can agree on a price I may buy his 55857 instead of the Toshiba. He would help deliver it to my house and set it up.

I know they are very heavy and hard to move. Have any of you guys gone through something like this?

If you move a big screen, rent a piano handtruck. You will not regret it.

Tod, Has the set been ISF calibrated? If so it would be

worth more. ISF calibration starts at about $250. Does

it have a transferable warranties, that would also add

value. "Helping a friend priceless".

You could pick one up at Sears for about $3000 new with

price matching. Maybe have him get it calibrated for you

after ya'll move it to even up the deal.
