Here is a question for you. What should provide a better picture quality the faroudja outputing 720p via component into my Optoma h79 or My RX-Z9 outputing component?

Does the RX-Z9 use the faroudja chip for both scaling and deinterlacing? or is it like the Denon 3910 using it just for deinterlacing?

thanks

Faroudja - reason: FLI-2300 and better analog video circuitry

Z9 should be using FLI-2310 which may or may not have macroblocking, haven't seen it in action. BTW, there's no DVI/HDMI out on Z9. Z9 is doing both deinterlacing and scaling. So is Denon 3910, I think.

Given that the Denon 3910 has the FLI-2310 chip (I think) what would provide a better picture the 3910 going DVI into my H79 or going component (DVI if you can not sure if possible) from the 3910 into the NRS then component out to the H79??

Got me, theoretically, redundant ADA conversion should be avoided as far as possible, but we're talking about a near state-of-the-art analog video section in NRS ... pls. try it and tell me
