Fatal1ty FP-190HD Wake on LAN not working??

808 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Craigger
I can't get this working and I believe it might be a problem with the BIOS.

Has anybody managed to get Wake on Lan working from a system shutdown (MB has 5volts Standby power) with this motherboard?

I have WOL enabled in the BIOS and in windows XP Pro, but after I shutdown the PC both lights on the NIC go out.

My other two PC's work flawlessly, but when they are shut down the NIC still has lights.

Thanks,

Craig

The first question to be asked on WOL is did you enable S3 in your BIOS during the installation of XP Pro or was it later changed? Windows XP flavors sometimes will make it very difficult for WOL if the sleep S3 mode was not enabled within BIOS during installation. There are afew work arounds that can be used but I've found my only solution was to reinstall windows after my BIOS was set to S3.
S3 was not enabled in the BIOS during the initial install of XP due to a bug in the initial BIOS release.

I really don't want to reinstall...what are the workarounds I could try?
