Sorry if this has been coverered but I couldn't find anything.

I just got a DSP1124P. I notice NOW that the 2496 has better DAC's and goes down to 10hz. I'm using strictly as a PEQ. From what I understand, I can set the 2496 to 2 modes (vs. 12 on the 1124), such as 1 for music, 1 for HT. This is all I would need from that perspective but I am thinking of returning the 1124 in favor of the 2496, which I can get for like another $40. I have 1.4 of the 1124 now.

Should I bother?

Thanks.

You made the right choice. The DSP1124 is actually a bit more flexible than the FBQ and is cheaper. The FBQ can store more filters per channel than the DSP and can set wider filters (the DSP1124 is plenty capable of any filters you would actually need) but can only save one set of filters. The DSP1124 allows fewer filters per channel (I think 9 vs 20 or something) but allows you to have 12 presets.
