I am not anti-8VSB nor pro COFDM.

Well Bob, will every day be April 1 until the ATSC led:

SMPTE310M standard is changed to...?

SMPTE292M standard is changed to...?

SMPTE274M standard is changed to...?

SMPTE259M standard is changed to...?

SMPTE296M standard is changed to...?

SMPTE293M standard is changed to...?

And do we need to add 1.85, 2.00, 2.35 aspect ratios, what about adding 25Hz and 50Hz frame rates, now lets see, what more can we add to the PSIP. And..

In a few years a moot question. You will either be receiving HDTV transmissions from DBS, Cable, Internet or 3G cell providers. The TV broadcasters will all be dust if constricted to 8-VSB broadcasts.

Finally! the man has uttered a completely accurate sentence.

Bob, we Don't NEED broadcasters anymore.

God speed the day when they're relegated to their appropriate 21st century role of providing local news and traffic reports, in SDTV if they want, in 480i if they want, or- they can go dark for all I care.

Let the marketplace decide the future of this medium, not protectionist political action.

HDTV has/is/will be available via DBS, Cable, Internet. Can't comment 3G. BTW, many viewers are/will be receiving their cable HDTV via 16VSB.
