Here's the quick and dirty:
Dish 6000 Satellite receiver - Optical output both DD and PCM.
Sony DE545 Optical input
Panasonic PT47 HDTV with RCA output to Sony DE545
Problem: Both the Dish 6000 optical and Panasonic PT47 are connected to the Sony DE545 in the TV/SAT input feeds. If the last channel on the Sony DE545 was a Dish 6000 DD channel and the 6000 was turned OFF while viewing this channel, and the PT47 is changed to a cable channel (ie. audio feed should come from the R/L output of the PT47), no sound. If the Dish 6000 was on a PCM channel when it was turned off, and the PT47 is changed to cable sound is fine.
If I manually change the Input to analog, sound will come on after being on a DD feed. But otherwise, I must turn on the 6000 and tune it to a PCM channel or physically unplug the 6000.
Any thoughts? Best I can think of is the 6000 is keeping the optical output hot, but I'm curious if anyone has seen or worked around this problem with these receivers.
Thanks,
Chris
