Just got my Red 25th Anniversary Wii and some decent 480p Component cables.

The Wiil looks very good for what it can do 480p. Now all that stretching the TV has to do to fill its X size screen at 720p or in my case 1080p makes it look "jaggy".

One major tip is to set the Wii to 4:3 Screen Width and also set your HDTV to display 4:3 size.

That will put black borders all the way around Wii games but since theres less stretching Wii games will look noteably better.

just wanted to share.

I set my wii to 16:9 and it fills my screen fine fully at 1.78.1 without stretching the image

Yes, the Wii is designed to take advantage of anamorphic output, as are 16:9 TVs.

I think he is getting confused by the notion of screen geometry creating "elongated" pixels. But by this reasoning, we should all watch our anamorphic DVDs squashed to 4:3 pillarboxed!
