I am a newbie to htpc and just configured my new htpc to my Z1 projector. I am using PowerDVD and Powerstrip (thanks to all the great threads it was fairly easy to initially set up). So far all I can say is that its great and produces a noticable improvement in my pq over my dvdp. I know theres still a lot of tweaks and add-ons, but for me it will be one step at a time.


I would like to add ffdshow to my htpc however have a few questions. I have searched the forum for basic info on ffdshow, however can only find very detailed info.


- what are the basic functions of ffdshow (in terms a 2 yr old could understand please....)

- what version should i install

- can anyone point me to an easy step by step instructions to configure the basics
