Seems that besides the usual suspects, coax, s-video, component, and rgbhv, one should prepare for future possibilities with D15 connections. Possibly for DVI and also in the event of upgrades, or for computer connections.


My question is: should I install D15 male/male, male/female, or female/female cable? I am leaning towards male/male, but I would like to see some comments from the more experienced folks.

What about just running some PVC conduit, so you can easily fish any type of future cable?

After much agonizing, I ended up running standard VGA cable (male-to-male) AND one run of Cat 5. In a pinch, the Cat 5 can carry VGA signals, but it is also useful for RS232 connections or infrared distribution. The VGA cable can be adapted for use as component video or DVI with the proper adaptors or transconders.
