Finally getting a 5.1 audio HT setup...what movie should I test it with first?

As the subject says, I finally got a 5.1 HT setup. What movie(s) should I watch first to make full use of it? Any war/action-type movies I suppose...? Thanks!

Oh man, I SO misread what the thread was about.

Watch either Sky Captain or U-571. Or any of the Star Wars movies.
I won't ask :D . Thanks.

I missed the part where it was about audio. I typed this long thing... :D :D
Any of the LOTR movies, Saving Private Ryan, Master and Commander, & Toy Story2 - especially the first five minutes.
Definitely watch Master and Commander. Great use of surrounds.

This movie has been given short shrift by many of the pundits. The audio action is nothing less than stellar in this film. As well as some dynamic action scenes there are some "quiet" sounds when they are in the forest that have you on the edge of your seat.

Not too many folks talk about this film but the story and acting are really quite good. Trust me...your new system will get a workout!
Be sure and check your levels on a silent film like Ben Hur 1927. You need to make sure that your fancy speaker set-up won't ruin the silence of the top rung silent films. For sound films, nothing beats U-571 and Stir Warz Phantom Menace.
Stand by Me - One of my favorite films. After listening to it, it will make you appreciate 5.1 even more!
I don't tend to remember audio quality, so I might be off base, but I'd suggest The Fast and the Furious. If I'm wrong and the audio sucks, at least you'll be able to watch Michelle Rodregez! :D
Try some concert DVDs. There are lots of threads here with suggestions.
I agree with Master & Commander. Not only does it have the Big sounds, it has the Quiet sounds too. I always use that movie to show people the effects of 5.1.
Master & Commander

Any LOTR

The Haunting

Pearl Harbor

Lion King Special Home Theater Edition
Das Boot, U571
LOTR

The Italian Job

Saving Private Ryan

Master & Commander

Fifth Element

Star Wars

or any movie you want to see.

Although I didn't like it as much as the Japanese original, I think The Grudge (2004) has a very active 5.1 mix.

Your not wrong at all, in fact they still consider that movie refferance quality because of the DTS and DD5.1, and the picture quality.
I agree, LOTR movies are great for audio. But I found the best use of ALL the channels was in the shootout scene & following causeway chase scene in Bad Boys II - you will hear bullets flying from all corners of your room. The best 5.1 sound in a concert is Boz Scaggs Live recorded in HD in SF, mixed by ComingHome Studios. Enjoy.
