Finally got authorization to swap out TV - question?

600 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  irishrulze
I am exchanging my old Sony KDF50-WE610 (had blotch problems) with Circuit City in the upcomming week. Now my question is:

What do I exchange it for, and no this is not the typical what TV should I get thread, please continue reading :)

Ok, So i have a credit that I can use toward another TV. Of course I can just get the Sony 50A10 as an even swap, but I want to upgrade to the 50SXRD. Now, I don't mind paying the difference, but I can't see spending the extra money for the SXRD knowing the new SXRD's will come out next year with 1080p input. So now I say to myself, well...myabe I should upgrade screen size and go with the 60A20 (which really wouldn't cost that much out of my pocket).

The twisted thinking I have is leaning me toward getting the 50SXRD now and hoping it eventually has preoblems so they can swap it out with the 2nd Gen SXRD down the road....any opinions?

I guess its just bad timing (technologically speaking) as far as swaps go....not sure what to do.

Go with the SXRD. There isn't going to be 1080p material available for a good while as it seems.
Either way you look at it, neither one has a 1080p input so why even worry about that?

Do you like the sxrd enough to enjoy it if another 1080p accepting set comes along? If you go with the A20 it's no out of pocket cost. will you enjoy it or spend all day lurking the sxrd thread instead of watching the set? What if you get an sxrd with blobs?

Personally, I'd go with the sxrd or take a look at the 1080 jvc, but I am biased towards lcos technology.

Still struck me as humurous.

I would get the A-10 or the SXRD. The picture quality of the A-20 isn't quite as good as the A-10 and certainly not as good as the SXRD.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am leaning towards the SXRD, but have some concerns on PQ which I made a new thread about. Thanks again.
