I have a Marantz S1 on loan for a month. Does anybody have any suggestions for fine tuning this projector? I will be using a Panasonic RP82 DVD player.

Should I feed the projector an interlaced or progressive scan image? I read that the HT1000 likes an interlaced image.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I believe the concensus so far has been: If you have a kick-ass progressive player, feed the PJ with that, if not, feed it with an interlaced signal. I used to have a Denon 2800 and IMO the interlaced signal looked a tad better than the progressive signal.

John, try it both ways. You will probably find that even though the Panny uses DCDi, the picture will look better if you feed interlaced to the PJ. As far as other fine tuning, use AVIA, VE, or the THX optimode patterns on one of the newer THV certified DVD's for proper white level and black level. You might want to do a search for the scoped settings for your DVD player as well for guidance in setting up the player before you start.
