Total novice here, but I hope you will help me get over this fear!

I enstalled 8" speakers in my ceiling. They push against the plastic layer in the attic that keeps insulation from falling out. Is there any chance that under normal use, that the speaker could get so hot that it would start a fire?

I am so worried about this that I can't sleep at night. Your thoughts?

About the only way that speaker can catch on fire is if it is struck by lightning. If that happens that will be the least of your worries.
